State Issues Forum

CPA plays a key networking role in Washington, DC, as founder and chair of the State Issues Forum (SIF), an officially recognized affiliate of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) representing the non-profit sector to the NCSL Executive Committee. CPA convenes meetings and staffs the Forum, which brings together advocacy groups working on progressive issues at the state level. SIF members share information, represent the nonprofit sector at NCSL meetings and other state legislator organizations. SIF sponsors independent policy workshops and other activities during NCSL meetings. This year the following panels were held:

  • Environmentally Friendly Transportation Policy: A Bipartisan Discussion
  • Political Inequality: Voting Reforms for the 21st Century
  • The Truth About TABOR and How To Beat It
